 Bodie Island Lighthouse

This watercolor painting is of the Bodie Island Lighthouse on the NC Outer Banks. The lighthouse sits way off the road and unless you take the time to drive up to it, you cannot judge its true size. At 170' it is the fifth tallest lighthouse in the US. I zeroed in on the shed and base to give an idea of its scale. The... lighthouse was closed and a fence put around it to keep visitors safe from falling ironwork, but I recently found out that funding has become available for restoration.
