Welcome! I'm the Gold Leaf Man, that tall guy who's been seen
all over the country, usually bent over and working on some of the finest firetrucks, boats, trailers, cars and
signs in the US!
I'm also one of the few artisans who has continued to
perfect the traditional art of hand lettered, gold leaf gilding. My 30 years of experience,
coupled with my initial training among the finest of Philadelphia's master gilders has enabled me to continue to
bring this craft to those who value it's incredible beauty, the richness and the longevity of pure 23kt gold
leaf! The pride in which the owners display their vehicles, signs, boats and equipment is evident in the
care they take and I am honored to be a part of making it happen!
It's hard to capture the all beauty of gold leaf in a photograph.
Here is a short video of a boat I recently lettered. It is a 1947 Chris Craft, similar to the boat that starred in
"On Golden Pond" Notice how the gold captures the light and changes with movement. Soon you will be able to see
"Last Nickel" on the water.
Here is another Chris Craft with gold lettering. It is a 1931 Runabout. Both of these boat
will be at the Raleigh Antique Boat Show at Lake Wheeler on Saturday Sept. 25th. That's Raleigh NC
Gold leaf lettering on the transom of INDISCRETION a 1964 Fino
undergoing restoration by R and T Marine Services of Newport NC
At this point, two coats of clear will go on the transom and
platform. Teak hand rails will follow the contour of the deck.
I was recently sent this photo of Sweet Genevieve in the water. 23kt Gold leaf lettering in an elegant script. She
